2019 Canadian Surgery Forum (CSF)

2019 Canadian Surgery Forum (CSF) is organized by Canadian Surgery Forum (CSF) and will be held from Sep 05 - 07, 2019 at Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

2019 Theme: From Competency to Expertise
"In the coming year, general surgery training programs across the country will implement Competence by Design out of the need to address the depth and breadth of knowledge and skills surgical residents are expected to acquire to transition into practice. 

While competence refers to the acquisition of a certain skill, expertise relates to the mastery of whole skill domain. Competency ensures patient safety. Expertise is what defines us as physicians. 

Acquiring expertise means integrating extensive knowledge and skills with experience to achieve consistently superior performance to ensure better outcomes for our patients and  serve as mentors for the next generation of surgeons.

How we obtain, retain and maintain expertise through training and practice is the theme of this year’s Canadian Surgery Forum."
