2019 Biomedical Transparency Summit (BMTS) Europe is organized by Center for Biomedical Research Transparency (CBMRT) and will be held on May 15, 2019 at National Hotel Arts and Crafts, Paris, Ile-de-France, France.

Transparency Leaders & Publishers- working on initiatives relating to publication of negative results, pre-publication, data sharing, health research & biomedical science policy.
Funders- that support biomedical and health policy research and are interested in reducing waste in biomedical research.
Research Institutions and Consortia- who want to understand upcoming changes in science policy, publishing and funding environments related to transparency.

Description:
The Biomedical Transparency Summit is part of CBMRT's 5 year US-Europe Summit programme, the aim of which is to update stakeholders in the biomedical research transparency moment with latest developments and to provide opportunities to collaborate on driving the change in culture required to achieve greater transparency in biomedical research practices. The speaker line up is excellent, includong Philippe Ravaud (INSERM), Sile Lane (Sense About Science/AllTrials), Prof. Malcolm Macleod (Uni Edinburgh), Dr. Theodora Bloom ( BMJ / medRxiv ), Prof. Michel Goldman (Frontiers / i3h) as well as speakers from Wellcome Trust, BMC Medicine, CSDR and panelists from industry. We anticipate a lively discussion between funders, publishers regulators, researchers, industry/tech and science policy representatives on topics that include pre-prints, data sharing, open access and Plan S, technology, and negative/inconclusive results.

Many experimental results never see the light of day - particularly when an expected efect is not observed. Negative and inconclusive results in biomedical research have signifcant value to inform future research designs, funding decisions, and save study participants from avoidable risks.

A rapidly evolving ecosystem of initiatives and tools exists to assist biomedical researchers improve the transparency of their research eforts. The Biomedical Transparency Summit will bring together leaders from this ecosystem and representatives of private and publicly funded research - to publish a roadmap of tools available for distribution across the community of biomedical researchers.
