Despite tremendous advances in recent years, cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the leading cause of death throughout the world. While many areas within CVD require further research to improve outcomes, other areas have established best-practice patterns, but struggle with implementation. Education is key to keeping clinicians up-to-date on the issues affecting the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of in CVD, and The Big Sky Cardiovascular Update was designed with that education in mind.
Conference Objectives:
The overall goal of this course is to provide practical, contemporary cardiovascular prevention, diagnosis and management strategies in the care of patients.
Upon completion of this course, learners should be able to -
• Describe current treatment strategies in the investigation and management of coronary artery disease
• Evaluate appropriate interpretation of cardiovascular guidelines including hypertension and valvular guidelines
• Utilize appropriate anticoagulation therapeutic strategies in the management of atrial fibrillation
• Identify the impact of cardiometabolic disorders including diabetes
• Recognize the best practices in the treatment of patients with heart failure including new drugs and diagnostic strategies
• Employ practical, evidence-based strategies to address lipid and hypertension management concerns in the CVD patient
