Advanced Principles of EFM Course is organized by Professional Education Center (PEC) and will be held from Oct 24 - 26, 2019 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park, Kansas, United States of America. This Conference has been approved for a maximum of 15 Hours of CE Credits.
Program Objectives:
• Practice application of NICHD defi nitions through self-assessment
• Identify key concepts in EFM research and result interpretation
• Critique examples of peer reviewed EFM research
• Review fetal-uteroplacental physiology and the impact on fetal oxygenation
• Recognize complex factors infl uencing the oxygenation pathway in EFM
• Apply a standardized, consensus-based approach to EFM management
• Describe frequent errors related to EFM interpretation and management
• Explain physiologic rationale and research for corrective measures used in Cat II/III tracings
• Discuss complex case studies including IUGR, signal ambiguity, and non-OB surgery
• Report key fi ndings of the ARRIVE trial/related studies
• Analyze 2nd stage research and impact on maternal-fetal well-being
• Restate four elements of an EFM liability claim
• Examine pitfalls of selected EFM malpractice allegations
• Summarize important elements of intrapartum EFM documentation
