9th Annual Integrative Medicine for the Underserved Conference: Solidarity & Self-Care - Supporting Social Justice and Balance in Integrative Health is organized by Integrative Medicine for the Underserved (IM4US) and will be held from Aug 22 - 24, 2019 at Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, California, United States of America.

Target Audience:
IM4US strives to be an inclusive community that embraces diversity and welcomes all individuals caring for the underserved, especially those from under-represented healing professions or backgrounds. Health care providers, healers, researchers, public health workers, policy analysts, students, administrators, patients, and community members are warmly encouraged to attend and to submit a proposal.

Conference Theme: Solidarity & Self-Care - Supporting Social Justice and Balance in Integrative Health

The conference aims to examine the inextricable connections between social justice, health equity and the delivery of quality integrative health care for the underserved. This is an opportunity to learn innovative practical strategies for providing care for the underserved while addressing the social determinants of health. We will explore ways to support providers and advocates in achieving balance between managing their own self-care while striving to provide care in an under-resourced and increasingly fast-paced health care environment. In solidarity, we will work to close the gap in health equity and find our way back to wellness for ourselves, our communities, and the most vulnerable in our society.

Conference Description:
This Conference will continue to explore integrative modalities through the lenses of both provider competencies and infrastructure for addressing social determinants of health. Of special focus this year, we explore self-care, which is a challenge for providers serving the underserved and for those we serve. This conference seeks to explore our commonalities, and share solutions that we have found in our own practices and communities. In solidarity, we will heal and find our way back to wellness together. Join us for an experiential learning opportunity and return home with deliverable skills and knowledge for those who need them most as well as those of us who serve them.
