Course Overview:
This conference is designed for orthopaedic practitioners including surgeons, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. A primarily case-based format will be used to explore the surgical and alternative management of patients within the subspecialties of joint replacement, trauma, pediatrics, hand and upper extremity, foot and ankle, shoulder and knee, and spine.

Each presenter will engage the audience in an exchange of ideas and opinions ending with an overview of the best evidence for the problem(s) highlighted in the case. Panel discussions will allow for discussion of complex cases, and each session will include opportunities for audience participation.

Course Objectives:
• Review advances and current best practices in each of the following fields, foot/ankle, hand, spine, joint arthroplasty, pediatric orthopaedics, orthopaedic trauma surgery, and sports medicine
• Discuss and debate controversies relevant in each of the orthopaedic subspecialties
• Provide an update and discuss relevant issues in today’s health care environment that are prudent to providing optimal patient care in a fiscally responsible manner

Educational Objectives:
At the completion of the 2019 Orthopaedic Surgery Alumni Weekend, the participant should be able to:
• Evaluate and discuss complex cases involving orthopaedic pathology of the foot and ankle, hand and wrist, and spine
• Identify and appropriately utilize new and emerging techniques in pediatric orthopaedics, musculoskeletal trauma and sports medicine
• Choose efficient methods of providing orthopaedic care in a changing health care environment
