2019 AANS Managing Coding & Reimbursement Challenges in Neurosurgery is organized by American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and will be held from Feb 07 - 09, 2019 at San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego, California, United States of America. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 17 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Overview:
The goal of the 2019 AANS Managing Coding & Reimbursement Challenges in Neurosurgery course is to train clinical, professional and administrative staff to recognize the implications of quality reporting and deliver the most up-to-date ICD-10 and CPT coding specific to neurosurgical practices. Through hands-on training and experience, attendees will be able to accurately apply and assign CPT codes for common neurosurgical procedures. Attendees will be exposed to high quality, reliable and effective practice management content important for staying compliant with ever-changing regulations.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
• Review documentation guidelines in order to identify common compliance issues in E/M coding and
documentation.
• Discuss Medicare Update of 2019.
• Review documentation requirements to ensure appropriate coding compliance and reimbursement for non-physician providers.
• Describe the global surgical package including the pre-, intra- and post-operative global period components.
• Identify and apply correct CPT codes to commonly performed spine procedures, cranial and neuroendovascular procedures.
Please note: There is an anatomy & terminology for coders’ breakout and a physicians’ breakout the first evening of the course. These breakouts are included in the registration fee.
