Description:
The year's Summit plans to focus on families and ways to improve their health and social outcomes. Our presenters will offer a broad spectrum of topics, from domestic violence to the increase in child abuse cases seen in ER's. They would like to build some more on the topic of maternal mortality which we mentioned at the last conference, as well as post natal depression and additional interactive activities for attendees. The Infant Health Network is focused on making an impact on infant mortality in Tarrant County, to help achieve this they are pursing a program called Collective Impact. This involves partnering with other stakeholders to work together on initiatives that lead to the achievement of this goal.

Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:
• Improve the knowledge base of participants regarding new initiatives to improve the health outcomes of women and reduce maternal mortality which will impact the infants health outcomes;
• Increase awareness of outside factors that affect a successful pregancy and a cohesive family unit; and
• Improve knowledge about the issues faced by this patient population.
