OVERVIEW

Wound Healing And Hyperbaric Symposium is organized by American Professional Wound Care Association (APWCA) and will be held on Sep 15, 2018 at Embassy Suites McAllen/Convention Center, Mcallen, Texas, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is physicians, podiatrists, nurses, physical therapists, dietitians and others who manage wound care patients across the continuum of healthcare. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 5.00 hours in AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Goal/Purpose :
The emphasis of the activity will be to identify wound healing, and other ancillary services in wound management, ensuring principles in wound healing, recognizing the pathophysiology of and need for glycemic control in diabetic foot ulcers, and the role of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in wound management. The speakers who are experts and well known in the fields of wound management and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Vascular surgeons, family physicians, general surgeons, endocrinologists, emergency room physicians, infectious disease physicians, orthopedists, oncologists, podiatrists, as well as nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical therapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, residents, students, and other healthcare professionals who deal with the wound care patient will benefit from the multi-disciplinary and comprehensive approach to this educational event. The goal is to meet the continuing educational needs of the attendees by providing educational lectures that deliver comprehensive wound care identification and management strategies. And to provide the knowledge and skills to identify patients at risk for development of wounds and wound complications.

Learning Objectives:
• Discover components of a comprehensive wound assessment
• Identify levels of wound healing to identify appropriate interventions to promote healing
• Recognize the clinical indicators for hyperbaric oxygen therapy
• Explain modalities to diagnose perfusion to lower extremities
• Discuss arterial ulcers and diabetes
• Distinguish the uses of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in diabetic foot ulcers
