Virginia Urological Society (VUS) 30th Annual Meeting is organized by WJ Weiser and Associates, Inc and will be held during Apr 13 - 14, 2018 at Hilton Norfolk The Main, Norfolk, Virginia, United States of America. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 8.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Conference Description :
The annual Virginia Urological Society Meeting provides an excellent opportunity for medical professions from across the state and surrounding communities to come together and share their knowledge, experience, and vision on how to improve the quality of patient care in the field of urology.
Conference Objectives are :
Upon completion of the VUS 30th Annual Meeting, participants will be able to:
• Identify which prostate cancer patients are candidates for secondary hormonal agents.
• Explain the rationale for which therapies are in the perview of urologists and which are best served with a multi-disciplinary approach with hormonal agents combined with or sequential to chemotherapy.
• Review the current FDA recommendations for check point inhibitors for genito-urinary malignancies.
• Discuss which aspects of medicine place physicians at risk for burnout and provide strategies for physician resilience.
• Describe how to prepare a patient for consultation with a reconstruction specialist.
• Explain the rationale for prostate biomarkers, what information each test provides and how to utilize that information clinically.
• Describe how to minimize the quality of life impact of prostate cancer treatment.
• Contrast the mechanisms of tissue destruction of BPH and determine what patient characteristics make patients appropriate candidates for each.
• Determine what web-based resources are available to find evidence related to understudied areas in urology.
• Describe how to position your practice to be prepared for value-based care and what resources are necessary.
• Identify what reimbursement changes are expected at the state level in the coming year and how to be prepared as a practice.
• Review techniques learned from high volume surgeons that can translate into best practice techniques.
• Describe how mergers, acquisitions, ancillaries and recruiting have affected the national urological landscape. Drill down into how to maximize these factors impact patient care.
• Review the changing political landscape of healthcare reimbursement at the state level.
