6th Annual Akron Pediatric Orthopaedic Resident Review Course is organized by Akron Children's Hospital and will be held from Oct 18 - 19, 2018 at The Austen Bioskills Lab, Akron, Ohio, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is a concise, high-yield curriculum useful in preparation for the Orthopedic In-Training Examination and ABOS Part I Examination.
Conference Description :
The goal of this POSNA endorsed course is to provide comprehensive and concise didactic coverage of the content within the realm of pediatric orthopedics. It will provide hands-on skills lab teaching via both sawbones and cadaver models utilizing the POSNA Resident Curriculum and the Orthopedic Surgery Milestone Project from the ACGME/ABOS as a guideline for content. Our faculty has developed a strong dedication to training orthopedic residents at our institution and we are determined to provide a high-quality, high-yield learning opportunity to supplement the educational experience you receive at your home institution. We have endeavored to make this educational opportunity affordable and accessible to all orthopedic surgery residents. We are excited to utilize The Austen Bioskills Lab and are confident you will find your time in Akron educational and enjoyable.
Conference Objectives are :
• Describe the normal growth and development of children and adolescents to enable differentiation between normal and pathological states.
• Demonstrate understanding of the recognition, diagnosis and management of common traumatic, congenital, developmental and neuromuscular orthopedic pathology in children and adolescents.
• Understand the indications for operative and nonoperative treatment of these pathologic conditions.
• Demonstrate technical facility of key pediatric orthopedic surgical procedures.
