The 12th Asia Pacific Conference on Tobacco or Health (APACT)

The 12th Asia Pacific Conference on Tobacco or Health (APACT) is organized by Pacto Convex and will be held from Sep 13 - 15, 2018 at Hilton Bali Resort, Bali, Indonesia.

Tobacco control has tried to help our society in the past decades to live in a better world, where people are less burdened by the tobacco use. Asia Pacific Conference on Tobacco or Health (APACT) has served as the flagship conference for tobacco control society in the region. It continues to bring together advocates, clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and other professionals from around the globe, to discuss the latest findings and innovations in this vigorous field. Strategies and approaches in the tobacco control area are progressing and exploring new horizons.

The 12th APACT - Indonesia is no exception. With the theme of “Tobacco Control for Sustainable Development Goals: Ensuring a Healthy Generation”, we will highlight and discuss the fundamental aspects of the strong implementation of tobacco control to achieve the global agenda of Sustainable Development Goals and to protect the young generation.

There are five objectives APACT12th wants to achieve:

• A stronger tobacco control policy
To control the harmful use of tobacco both in smoking and smokeless forms that lead to saving lives and reducing the burden from tobacco-related disease in Asia Pacific countries

• A restriction access for Tobacco Industry (TI) Interference
To empower and engage all Asia Pacific countries to share a common ground in protecting their nation from the destructive marketing target of TI

• The Asia Pacific towards healthy economic growths
To mainstream policies among Asia Pacific Countries for the healthy and economically wealthy and sustainable nation. This will include highlighting the important implementing policies like raising tobacco taxes that not only will decrease the prevalence of tobacco use but also will increase government’s revenues and reduce poverty rate

• Empower youth to act
To educate, engage and mobilize youth for demanding and creating a policy environment that is conducive to the development of Tobacco-free Generation

• A stronger alliance and collaboration
To engage and mobilize community in: a) implementing plans for protecting health policies like ban on advertisement and promotion, smoke free public places, sale to minors, increasing the age of purchase of tobacco products; and b) building alliances with government, academics, civil society and other stakeholders beyond health for achieving sustainable tobacco control programs to improve the health and well being of children and future generations.

The APACT12th format will include forums, workshops, plenaries, special sessions, symposiums, poster presentations and social markets. Platforms are designed to facilitate rigorous discussion and presentations to highlight efforts that have been made and plans towards ending tobacco epidemic.

• Low-Middle Income Countries Regular Fee From July 14, 2018 To Sep 13, 2018 - USD $300.
• Domestic Regular Fee From July 14, 2018 To Sep 13, 2018 - USD $255.
• Youth Regular Fee From July 14, 2018 To Sep 13, 2018 - USD $150.
