OVERVIEW
Spinal & Epidural Workshop is organized by Coast to Coast Anesthesia Seminars, Inc and will be held during Mar 11 - 12, 2018 at Sheraton Sand Key Resort, Clearwater Beach, Florida, United States of America. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 12.00 Class A CE credits.
Conference Objectives:
• Review the anatomy and physiology relevant to the subarachnoid space
• List the physiologic changes that occur during spinal anesthesia
• Discuss the commonly used spinal anesthetic agents
• Describe midline and paramedian approaches
• Review anatomy relevant to the epidural space
• Describe techniques and identify methods to improve success of epidural placement
• The learner will understand the cause of clinical misadventures associated with epidural anesthesia
• Identify common drugs and dosages used in epidural anesthesia
• Discuss common causes of difficult neuraxial blocks including anatomic, disease states, and previous surgery
• Relate useful techniques for difficult neuraxial blocks
• Describes advantages of blocks in patients with altered anatomy
•Relate literature-based guidelines for spinals and epidurals with patients on anticoagulants
• Discuss the most commonly encountered anticoagulants
• List presentation of spinal/epidural hematoma
•Describe the basics of ultrasonography
• List potential advantages and indications for ultrasound-guided neraxialblocks
• Recognize the importance of sterile techniques and timely recognition of systemic infection associated with epidural anesthesia
