This one-day symposium aims to provide the primary care physician an overview of healthy and disordered sleep by experts in the field. It is designed to enhance the knowledge of primary care physicians on common sleep disorders, their presentation, treatment options, and the relationship between sleep disturbance and other disorders such as cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. In addition, there will be a discussion of cognitive behavioral treatment of insomnia with provision of appropriate tools and resources to care for patients with insomnia including an overview of their presentation and treatment of common movement disorders of sleep.
