6th Pan-American Dengue Research Network Meeting
OVERVIEW
6th Pan-American Dengue Research Network Meeting is organized by Pan-American Dengue Research Network, University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) and will be held during Apr 09 - 12, 2018 at Moody Gardens Hotel, Spa and Convention Center, Galveston, Texas, United States of America.
Conference Description :
Dengue viruses (DENV) are the most important human arboviral pathogens. They are the cause of dengue fever, an arthropod-borne viral infection which affects people all over the world. In many Latin America countries all four DENV serotypes are actively circulating. In tropical and subtropical regions in the Americas, dengue is considered among the most serious health problems; moreover, demographic changes, rapid urbanization, and global travel have contributed to the spread of the virus to new geographic regions.
Conference Objectives are :
• To provide an update on the status of dengue and relevant flaviviruses currently having an impact in the public health in the Americas region (Zika, Chikungunya and others), with the participation of world-recognized experts.
• To present the most recent research from the Americas on virology, immunology, pathogenesis, control and prevention, economic impact, treatment and vaccines, clinical studies of dengue and other relevant flaviviruses and their co-morbidities.
• To provide information on funding opportunities to study dengue and other relevant flavivirus in developing countries
• To provide the students from different Latin and North American countries with a forum to share their scientific interests and achievements and where to promote the collaboration. Also the meeting is a good platform for students to identify commons interests with Principal investigators/Senior researchers and to advance their careers.
