OVERVIEW

Simulation Educator Training (SET) Course is organized by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) and will be held during Oct 15 - 17, 2018 at Collaborative Health Education Building (CHEB), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The target audience for this medical event is health care professionals who are currently or planning to be engaged in simulation-based education. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 27.25 credits.

Conference Description :
The course is divided into six modules, plus there is an online four-to-five-hour pre-course component covering a variety of introductory material. Each day will feature instruction as well as small group activities where learners apply concepts in an interactive environment.

The principal aim of this course is to equip health educators to implement a variety of simulation-based learning opportunities for their students. The course focuses on the competencies required to:
• Develop a simulation curriculum and integrate with other learning activities
• Design, develop, facilitate and evaluate simulation cases and simulation sessions
• Provide effective feedback and debriefing
• Describe the principles informing performance-based assessment
• Describe the foundations of program evaluation for simulation programs
