OVERVIEW
Simulation and Advanced Skills Center Faculty Development Sessions is organized by Cleveland Clinic Center for Continuing Education and will be held during Sep 24 - 25, 2018 at HS Building - Stanley Shalom Zielony Plaza, Cleveland, Ohio, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is healthcare educators, directors or faculty of a current or prospective simulation program. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 22.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Conference Description:
Overseen by Medical Director Eduardo Mireles-Cabodevila and Administrator Leslie Simko and led by highly experienced Cleveland Clinic’s Simulation and Advanced Skills Center Faculty, the course combines online foundational simulation-based material and onsite experiential learning with practice and feedback. Attendees join a growing community of informed simulation educators who continue to network and share experiences in the field. The program emphasizes hands-on activities and active participation to maximize simulation-based instruction skill acquisition. Class group sizes are kept small to allow for maximum participation. The primary audience for this course are healthcare educators wishing to improve their skills as instructors in simulation education.
Conference Objectives:
• Compare various debriefing techniques through practice and application based on the standards of best practice, literature, and the Society of Simulation in Healthcare guidelines
• Demonstrate the facilitator role within simulation-based education including before, during, and after a simulation event
• Design, dry run, implement, and evaluate a scenario
• Formulate appropriate questions according to the levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy and implement questions utilizing an advocacy/inquiry technique
