OVERVIEW
Inaugural Scripps Cardiomyopathy and Cardio-Oncology Symposium: A Case-Based Approach is organized by Scripps Health and will be held on Sep 22, 2018 at Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa, San Diego, California, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is Cardiologists, Oncologists, Internists, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 6 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Course Description:
Significant advances in the diagnosis and management of cardiomyopathies and resultant heart failure continue to emerge, compelling the practice of cardiology to constantly evolve. These advances must be consistently implemented into clinical practice to guarantee the best care for patients affected by these cardiovascular conditions. Expert faculty will cover a wide range of topics including the diagnosis, management, and state-of-the-art treatment for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, chemo-induced cardiomyopathy, cardiac amyloidosis, cardiac sarcoidosis, arrhythmias related to each of these diseases, genetic abnormalities that can lead to these diseases, and advanced cardiac imaging. Faculty will also cover a variety of co-morbid and chronic conditions patients with heart disease may face. The goal of the conference is for participants to return to their practice equipped with the latest evidence base and practical information to improve patient outcomes.
Course Objectives:
• Incorporate current and emerging clinical evidence in the assessment, treatment and management of patients with challenging cardiovascular disease.
• Integrate new concepts in the imaging of patients with cardiomyopathies.
• Assess new medical and surgical therapies for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
• Discuss current pharmacologic strategies for patients with cardiac amyloidosis.
• Employ screening strategies for patients undergoing chemotherapy to help identify cardiac toxicity.
• Describe current pharmacologic and medical management strategies for patients with chemo-induced cardiomyopathy.
• Evaluate device based therapies for heart rhythm disorders related to cardiomyopathies.
• Define current recommendations for the use of genetic testing in the setting of cardiomyopathies.
• Interpret complex case-based imaging of patients with cardiomyopathies.
