OVERVIEW

Scottsdale Interventional Forum (SIF) is organized by Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) and will be held during Mar 21 - 24, 2018 at Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa At Gainey Ranch, Scottsdale, Arizona, United States Of America.

The target audience for this medical event is meet the educational needs of Interventional and General Cardiologists, Cardiology Fellows, Vascular Surgeons, Interventional Radiologists, Cath Lab Nurses and Technicians and other medical professionals who have an interest in heart and vascular medicine.

Course Description:
The past decade has witnessed an unparalleled evolution in our ability to diagnose and manage the most complex disease states afflicting patients with cardiovascular disease. As such, there is an ever-growing requirement for those providing patient care to remain at “the top of their game”. The Scottsdale Interventional Forum 2018 (SIF 2018) will provide participants and attendees a comprehensive, state-of-the-art review of the most relevant technology advances in heart and vascular medicine. The Organizing Committee for SIF 2018 has committed itself to creating what it believes is the most complete, all-encompassing curriculum to meet the needs of those attending this nationally recognized educational event.

Conference Objectives are :
• Understand the appropriate clinical indications for catheter-based therapies (versus surgical based revascularization) in complex and multi-vessel coronary artery disease.
• Understand the role of hemodynamic support modalities in Complex Higher-Risk (and indicated) Patients
• To understand the emerging role of percutaneous coronary intervention in unprotected left main disease and the relative outcomes compared to surgical therapy.
• To gain a practical appreciation of new and novel step platforms and their application in informed interventional practice.
• To discuss and apply indications for high resolution invasive coronary imaging in the catheter-based therapy of coronary artery disease.
• To be able to interpret and apply the results of invasive functional testing (and its relative merits) in the percutaneous treatment of coronary artery disease.
• To apply the fundamentals of a radial based approach to coronary intervention.
• Understand and differentiate the specific clinical features of appropriate use criteria and the evidence-based summaries on which PCI guidelines are developed.
• To be able to define the role of transcatheter and surgical therapies for patients with complex aortic valvular disease.
• Understand the role of transcatheter aortic valve replacement in intermediate risk patient subsets.
• Differentiate between degenerative and functional mitral valvular disease; and, to be able to discuss the relative indications for catheter-based treatments (versus surgical therapy) in each of these disease states.
• To understand the emerging role of catheter-based left atrial appendage therapies, as opposed to traditional pharmacotherapy, in the thromboembolic prophylaxis of atrial fibrillation.
