OVERVIEW
San Antonio Society of Pathologists (SASP) 74th Annual Seminar is organized by San Antonio Society of Pathologists (SASP) and will be held on Jan 06, 2018 at Hilton San Antonio Airport, San Antonio, Texas, United States of America. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 7.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
The principal objective during this course is to identify areas of diagnostic difficulties and challenges in everyday surgical pathology practice, specifically as it relates to head and neck and endocrine organ diseases, and to provide expert insight on selected topics. Substantial changes have been made in the new WHO publication as well as the new 8th Edition AJCC in head and neck and endocrine organ diseases. The topics of discussion focus on areas in which there is significant difficulty in interpretation of pathological features or when distinction from other lesions has a major impact on therapy and/or outcome. Case presentations will be used to highlight a practical approach to diagnosis.
Conference Objectives are :
At the completion of the seminar, participants will be able to:
• Define and recognize the histologic criteria for the newly defined thyroid gland tumor: noninvasive follicular thyroid tumor with papillary-like nuclear features.
• Apply both the inclusion and exclusion criteria to reach a definitive diagnosis of noninvasive follicular thyroid tumor with papillary-like nuclear features.
• Recognize selected new entities that are included in the new 2017 World Health Organization Classification of Head and Neck tumors.
• Select and integrate immunohistochemical, molecular, and/or genetic studies that aid in diagnosis or have prognostic significance for selected head and neck lesions, especially as it relates to diagnostic accuracy with mimickers of these entities.
• Improve the participants' ability to identify the pertinent histopathological characteristics of diseases to allow unequivocal diagnosis by integrating recent changes in pathology classification into current and updated terminology.
