Everything You Wanted to know about Advanced Directives and End of Life Care but Didn't Know Who To Ask?
Objectives: After this session, the learner will be able to:
• Review the origin of Advanced Directives from physician paternalism to patient autonomy to partnerships
• Understand differences in health care surrogate, proxy, legal guardian, and durable power of attorney
• Discuss Living Wills, Ethical Wills, POLST, CPR, DNR, CMO, and AND.
• Be able to comfortably discuss end of life issues with your patient and families
• Explain the role of the ethical committee
• Define futility and physician obligations
• Apply knowledge to challenging case scenarios

"Get Smart" About Diabetic Management In The Geriatric Population
Objectives: After this session, the learner will be able to:
• Review prevalence and impact of diabetes in the geriatric populations
• Discuss the vast number of medications for diabetes and when they are appropriate
• Understand differences in treatment strategies and goals in the diabetic geriatric patient
• Develop stepwise approach for the management of diabetes in the geriatric patient

"Driving Miss Daisy": Driving Assessment of the Elderly
Objectives: After this session, the learner will be able to:
• Review aging changes that may affect driving skills
• Learn how to evaluate geriatric patients through physical and cognitive testing
• Discuss how to manage the issue of removing driving privileges from your patient

How to Be A GENE-ius: An Entertaining Guide Through Genetic Drug Sensitivity Testing
Objectives: After this session, the learner will be able to:
• Review phase I drug metabolism and CYP450
• Familiarize yourself with genetic testing and when it is appropriate to order
• Understand how to use and interpret genetic testing in geriatric clinical practice using case scenarios
