OVERVIEW
Pediatric Pain Management: State of the Art and Science is organized by Boston Children's Hospital and will be held from Sep 10 - 11, 2018 at Joseph B. Martin Conference Center, Boston, Massachusetts, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is children including, nurses, advanced practice nurses, physician's assistants, physician generalists and sub-specialists, psychologists, child life workers, social workers, pharmacists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. Course Description :
This conference is a significant number of children experience pain unnecessarily in medical settings. The Pediatric Pain Management: State of the Art and Science conference is designed for pediatric clinicians; physicians, nurses, psychologists, and other clinical staff who care for children with painful conditions. This course will present the latest information on pediatric pain and identify barriers to its adequate treatment.
Aim to integrate basic, translational and clinical science with clinical practice. Plan a mix of local speakers/discussants as well as discussants from around the world from a range of disciplines and areas of interest. We have also received unsolicited requests from several international IASP-SIG members to participate, and have incorporated these requests into our provisional program.
For the two-day meeting, the sessions are organized around a set of over-arching themes, with a mix of lectures, audience discussion, and poster-discussions around each theme/major topics:
• Pain as a Consequence of Critical Illness
• Pain in Children with Developmental Disabilities
• Pediatric Chronic Pain and Rehabilitation
• Opioid Use, Misuse, and Addiction
• Pain and Fear related to procedural pain in children.
