Conference Description :
This course will address the assessment of balance and vestibular disorders, recent advances in diagnostic strategies, and testing modifications in the pediatric population. Presenters will share research, best practice guidelines and outcomes of patients with vestibular disorders. Case studies highlighting different balance and vestibular disorders from diagnosis through vestibular rehabilitation therapy will also be discussed.

Conference Objectives are :
• Describe three pediatric patient profiles that would warrant a referral for vestibular assessment
• List three causes of peripheral vestibular disorders in children.
• Describe seven methods to adapt a comprehensive vestibular testing battery for children under 10 years of age.
• Identify four common barriers that limit children from completing a standard vestibular testing battery.
• Summarize the difference between ocular and cervical vestibular evoked myogenic potentials.
• Apply knowledge of the development and maturation of the vestibular system to diagnostic testing results and predictive outcomes with vestibular rehabilitation therapy.
