15th Annual Conference of the ESC Working Group on Myocardial & Pericardial Diseases is organized by Paragon Group, European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and will be held from Oct 05 - 07, 2018 at Crowne Plaza Belgrade, Belgrade, Central Serbia, Serbia.
The target audience for this medical event is cardiologists, internal medicine specialists, scientists, pathologists, geneticists, rheumatologists, arrhythmologists, heart failure specialists, interventional cardiologists, nephrologists, and endocrinologists.
Course Description:
The aim of the Conference is to communicate progress in basic science, diagnosis, and management of myocardial and pericardial diseases to a broad audience including not only cardiologists and internal medicine specialists, but also basic scientists, pathologists, geneticists, rheumatologists, arrhythmologists, heart failure specialists, interventional cardiologists, nephrologists, and endocrinologists.
In order to expand the interaction and cooperation of the WG with other related areas, WGs and Associations in the ESC and worldwide, the Scientific Program will include sessions on the management of heart failure in cardiomyopathies and constrictive pericarditis, invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures, cardiotoxicity, myocardial and pericardial involvement in malignancies, arrhythmology, electrophysiology and pacing, sports, and surgical management of cardiomyopathies and pericardial disease. Systemic autoimmune diseases and metabolic disorders involving the heart and the pericardium will be elaborated in the special track. Advances in the treatment including new perspectives with biological drugs, immunomodulation and enzyme replacing therapies will be thoroughly reviewed as well.
"Myocardial & Pericardial Experts of Tomorrow" (MY-PET) track will include educational courses dedicated to cardiovascular pathology with the focus on inflammation, fibrosis and PCR for cardiotropic viruses but also cardiovascular genetics and integrated imaging in my/pericardial diseases. Young investigators awards sessions will include selected original research and case presentations by the first authors 40 years old or less. Specialist nurses, patients and caregivers are also cordially invited to this Conference and we have planed dedicated topics and presentations in the program by them and for them. Regional program will include several sessions in the local language to promote the regional cooperation and awareness on cardiomyopathies and pericardial diseases in the area.
