Ophthalmology Update 2018

Ophthalmology Update is organized by Jobson Healthcare Information (JHI) LLC and will be held during Feb 17 - 18, 2018 at Cape Rey Carlsbad, a Hilton Resor, Carlsbad, California, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is ophthalmologists and ophthalmologists-in-training in general practice and with subspecialty interests in cataract, glaucoma surgery, and retina. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 11.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Description :
This conference will consist of comprehensive and clinical updates in Cataract and IOL, Glaucoma, Retina, Ocular Surface and Oculoplastics. The meeting will be led by an interdisciplinary KOL faculty of ophthalmic sub-specialties.

Amedco in conjunction with Postgraduate Health Education (PHE) as the joint provider, will produce a 1.5 day CME educational symposium entitled: Ophthalmology Update 2018. Ophthalmology Update 2018 is an annual meeting dedicated to educating ophthalmologists on state of the art techniques and therapies as well as covering new studies and trials available over the past year. The intention is to cover all relevant disease states to patient care with an emphasis on those that have the most impact on current patient care. It will bring together a renowned faculty to offer broad scope education that will improve patient care and outcomes.

The format will include didactic presentations, panel discussions, point vs counterpoint and incorporate an automated response system to involve the audience of Ophthalmologist in the sessions. Further, the attending ophthalmologists will be able to ask questions live, print on available cards or send texts to the faculty live time with an emphasis on making this an interactive learning experience.

Learning Objectives :
After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
• Engage in discussions related to emerging issues in glaucoma, including risk assessment, imaging, management and progression assessment.
• Manage glaucoma using newer medical and surgical treatments.
• Describe how MIGS and other novel procedures and surgical devices address outflow and assist in glaucoma management.
• Appreciate the benefits of presbyopia and astigmatism correcting cataract procedures, and match treatmentoptions to specific patient needs.
• Describe the implications of untreated ocular surface disease and weigh the value of current dry eye treatments to address these needs.
• Discuss the rationale for current and investigational treatments for posterior segment diseases, including age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema.
• Recognize how inflammation fits into the pathophysiology of retinal disease and consider the consequences of inflammation when it is left untreated.
• Describe how various imaging technologies, such as OCT and angiography, can assist in diagnosing and monitoring ocular conditions.
• Describe the use of immunosuppressive therapy in uveitis patients.
• Discuss options for cosmetic facial procedures, including neurotoxins and fillers.
