OVERVIEW
North Carolina Spine Society (NCSS) Annual Meeting is organized by North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) and will be held from Aug 24 - 26, 2018 at Rizzo Center, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is designed for orthopaedic and neurosurgical spine surgeons, residents and fellows, and will improve understanding of the rapidly changing and expanding body of knowledge in the area of spinal disease. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 7.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
The purpose of this meeting is to educate and facilitate discussion on innovative surgical techniques, minimally invasive spine surgery, and to facilitate discussion on current outcome metrics as it relates to quality and value in spine care. The 2018 Annual Meeting features an expanded, three-day format including hands-on labs at UNC Hospitals.
Conference Objectives are :
At the conclusion of this educational activity participants should be able to:
• Review, discuss, and compare current surgical techniques for the treatment of cervical radiculopathy.
• Review, discuss, and compare current surgical techniques for the treatment of lumbar spondylolisthesis.
• Review and discuss current surgical techniques for the treatment of spinal tumors.
• Describe current surgical techniques for the treatment of thoracolumbar deformity correction.
• Analyze the utility and methods of measuring quality in spinal surgery.
• Explain and discuss the effects of spine healthcare costs on overall healthcare expenditures, insurance coverage, and public policy.
• Review, discuss, and compare current image guidance and robotic spinal surgery adjuncts.
• Review, discuss, and compare current surgical techniques for the treatment of cervical deformities.
• Discuss and analyze patient outcomes after spinal metastasis surgery.
• Discuss and describe innovative transnasal surgical approaches to the craniocervical junction.
