OVERVIEW
4th meeting of the Network of Intestinal Failure and Intestinal Transplantation in Europe (NITE) is organized by Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust and will be held during Jun 28 - 29, 2018 at Conference Aston, Birmingham, England, United Kingdom.
Conference Description :
This is a special occasion for the Multidisciplinary small bowel transplant team at Birmingham Children’s Hospital as we are also celebrating 25 years since we did our first small bowel transplant. We will be celebrating this by hosting a special party on 30th June 2018 for the small bowel transplant patients and their families.
The meeting will highlight the multidisciplinary team involved in the care of intestinal failure and intestinal transplantation. We will build on the success of the preceding meetings. The aim is for adult and pediatric colleagues within the medical, surgical and allied health professional field in the field of a short gut, intestinal failure, intestinal rehabilitation and transplant to interact with each other on common problems and seek innovative solutions which could be implemented in practice.
The scientific programme has been put together by the hard work of many people and especially the support from our sponsors. We would like to acknowledge the leading scientific experts in the field who have agreed to spend their valuable time and have taken time out of there busy working schedule and family lives to celebrate our special occasion.
The programme consists of a mixture of expert views, workshops highlighting difficult decision-making process, t case-based discussions and will hopefully stimulate discussion which will increase our knowledge and forge together new areas of interdisciplinary work between professionals.
For the first time within NITE, we have formed a separate workshop session for the allied health professionals to encourage networking and discussion around the complex issues of family support and interdisciplinary management.
