OVERVIEW
New England Tuberculosis (TB) Intensive Workshop is organized by Global Tuberculosis Institute (GTBI) and will be held during Jun 26 - 28, 2018 at University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, Massachusetts, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is physicians, nurses and healthcare professionals who are involved in the diagnosis and management of TB patients. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 16.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Conference Description :
This workshop will review principles for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of latent TB infection and TB disease and address TB in special populations. The first day will focus on LTBI, including risk-based screening, testing methods, treatment options, and strategies for treatment completion. The rest of the course will build on basic concepts and explore key aspects of TB diagnostics, treatment and management. The format will include lectures and interactive case discussions.

Upon completion of this workshop, participants should be better able to:
• Recognize the latest advances in assessing risk, testing and treating TB infection to prevent the development of disease.
• Integrate current recommendations for the prevention and ma Implement recommendations for prompt diagnosis, appropriate treatment and effective management of tuberculosis disease.
• Integrate current recommendations for the prevention and management of tuberculosis in special populations.
• Develop strategies for implementing individualized case management of a patient with TB.
