NDT Problem Solving and Handling for the Pediatric Client Seminar is organized by Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association (NDTA) and will be held during May 19 - 20, 2018 at NAPA Center, Los Angeles, California, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is OT, PT, and SLP who have completed an introductory to NDT course. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 15.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Course Description :
This course is designed for the pediatric physical therapist and pediatric occupational therapist seeking an advanced understanding of the current Neuro-Developmental Treatment Approach (NDT) for children with cerebral palsy and neuromotor disorders. This course is very attractive to clinicians who seek a better understanding of NDT intervention and facilitation to enhance function. Course material will focus on assessment and handling of the child with cerebral palsy and neuromotor disorders. The course will include lab sessions and case studies to reinforce didactic information. Please bring jointed rag doll to course.
Conference Objectives are :
•The student will be able to recognize how work on the trunk is critical to functional movements.
• The student will be able to differentiate the critical components of typical and atypical movement strategies in the child cerebral palsy and neuromotor disability.
• The student will be able to recognize the role of sensory considerations in assessment and intervention of the child cerebral palsy and neuromotor disability.
• The student will be able to identify the components of the ICF model as they related to assessment from the NDT approach.
• The student will be able to recognize the relationship between impairments and participation for the child cerebral palsy and neuromotor disability.
