International Seminar on Epithelial-Mesenchymal Plasticity in Carcinoma Metastasis is organized by Netherlands Cancer Institute / Het Nederlands Kanker Instituut (NKI) and will be held on Jun 29, 2018 at Piet Borst Auditorium, Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands.

Our general research interest is to understand the molecular basis of tumour metastasis. We utilize cell and molecular biology tools, mouse tumour models, functional genomics, and 2D/3D imaging techniques to uncover the genes and the signalling pathways responsible for tumour metastasis. Specifically, we have identified two cellular programs, Epithelial to Mesenchymal Transition (EMT) and invadopodia-mediated extracellular matrix degradation as being critical for tumour invasion and metastasis. We continue to dissect the signalling pathways regulating these programs and to test the importance of these signalling pathways in tumour metastasis in both mouse tumour models and human tumour samples.
