OVERVIEW
2018 Sonoma Scientific Seminar is organized by International Foot and Ankle Foundation (IFAF) and will be held during May 17 - 20, 2018, at Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, Sonoma, California, United States of America. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 20 CECH.
Course Description :
Join IFAF for an unforgettable weekend in the heart of Sonoma Valley. Sonoma is blessed by natural mineral hot springs, an idyllic, world famous wine growing region, championship golf, renowned spa and adorable small-town charm. Join our IFAF Faculty and invited guest speakers for this educational meeting and wine-tasting extravaganza.
Goals and objectives are:
• To better understand current treatment options for the management of topical steroids for lower extremity dermatology treatments.
• To improve the recognition of interesting dermatology clinical cases and complicated subungual melanoma and to review the current recommendations for treatments of these conditions.
• To review current trends and treatment protocols for conditions such as hyperhidrosis and related difficult foot conditions.
• To learn specific techniques for recognition, evaluation, and management, including current medical and surgical treatment of tendon and ligament injuries.
• To provide additional understanding of osteotomies of the 2nd metatarsal and the biomechanics of hammertoes.
• To better understand current treatment options and recommendation for onychomycosis and the current evidence-based medicine regarding treatments.
• To review current thoughts on treating osteomyelitis conditions and infection prevention in surgery of the lower extremities.
• To learn updated information regarding biomechanical evaluations of the foot and total contact orthotic devices and the conditions that are treated with this modality.
• To review and better understand the concepts of the Lapidus and bunion controversies and fixation options in hammertoe surgery.
• To compare the advantages of a midfoot instability and better understand whether fixation matters in the correction of hammertoe conditions.
• To explore diverse topics presented by medical professionals in specialized areas of podiatric medicine and surgery, dermatology and diagnostic imaging.
