Improving the Management of HIV Disease: An Advanced CME Live Course in HIV Pathogenesis, Antiretrovirals, and Other Selected Issues in HIV Disease Management is organized by International Antiviral Society (IAS - USA) and will be held on Apr 26, 2018 at National Press Club, Washington, Dist Of Col, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is physicians who are actively involved in the medical care of people with HIV infection and: have a solid, working knowledge of HIV disease management, provide comprehensive or speciality care for patients with HIV infection are currently active in HIV research. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 7.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Assessment of Needs:
Rapid advances in HIV disease management require the ongoing attention of practitioners involved in HIV medicine. This course will address the implications of new information on strategies for clinical management. Information will be presented through a mix of didactic lectures and clinically relevant cases developed by an expert faculty of HIV/AIDS clinicians and researchers.
Learning Objectives :
On completion of the course, participants will be able to:
• Describe the most recent advances in antiretroviral therapy, including initial regimens, switching therapy, and investigational new drugs and approaches
• Identify patients with chronic opioid dependence and develop treatment strategies for managing their care with opioid substitution therapy
• Formulate state-of-the-art strategies for managing hepatitis C virus in patients with HIV infection
• Describe the elements of the care continuum, including testing, engagement, treatment, and retention in care and their challenges
• Apply newly available data to strategies for management of established HIV infection and preventing infection with antiretroviral therapy
• Describe new insights into HIV disease pathogenesis that impact clinical care, including opportunities for researching HIV cure
