OVERVIEW
Hands on Surgical Training (HOST) Congenital Heart Disease Surgery with 3D Print Models is organized by Children's Health and will be held during Mar 01 - 03, 2018 at Children's Medical Center of Dallas, Dallas, Texas, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is Pediatric Cardiac Surgeons. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 20.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Conference Description :
Children’s Health Dallas and the University of Texas Southwestern are pleased to present a 2 ½-day, hands-on congenital heart disease surgery course. Attendees will have the opportunity to perform five surgical procedures on their own 3D printed models, and new for this year, view them on 3D displays. The cases include tetralogy of Fallot; complete transposition of the great arteries with intact ventricular septum; two different forms of double outlet right ventricle; and hypoplastic left heart syndrome. The hands-on sessions for each case will be preceded by didactic lectures on surgical anatomy, as well as discussions on the techniques. Attendees will be divided into groups of two and each will have the opportunity to perform the procedures as primary operator and assistant. Established cardiovascular surgeons will be available for advice and demonstration of the procedures throughout the course.
Conference Objectives are :
• Review 3D printing as a new method to display high-resolution 3D data
• Analyze 3D printing to produce real models of complex CHD to train young surgeons for surgery in the operating room.
• Discuss the anatomy of Congenital Heart Disease.
• Assess the surgical approaches to correct Congenital Heart Disease.
