OVERVIEW

Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS) Course is organized by Park Nicollet Health Services and will be held during Apr 26 - 27, 2018 at Embassy Suites by Hilton St. Paul Downtown, Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States of America. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 14.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Conference Description:
The FCCS curriculum is intended to introduce principles important in the initial care of critically ill/injured patients to physicians, physicians-in-training, nurses, and other healthcare providers who may or may not be skilled in critical care but who must care for such patients during early stabilization and in anticipation of the arrival of an intensivist, specialist, or pending transfer of a patient to a tertiary center.

This program will follow a standardized, rigorous curriculum developed by the Society of Critical Care Medicine. It provides exposure in both didactic and hands-on clinical skills for healthcare professionals who are responsible for care in the inpatient setting.

The course is not intended to provide expertise in the care of critically ill and injured patients, but to provide some knowledge and skills to assist you in patient care prior to transfer or until critical care consultation is available.

Educational objectives:
Following this learning activity, participants will be able to:
• Prioritize assessment needs for the critically ill patient
• Identify appropriate diagnostic tests for the critically ill patient
• Recognize and initiate management of acute life-threatening conditions
• Identify and respond to significant changes in the unstable patient
• Recognize the need for patient transfer and prepare practitioners for optimally accomplishing transfer
