Extracorporeal Support for Respiratory and Cardiac Failure in Adults 2018 is organized by American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) and will be held from Dec 07 - 09, 2018 at American College-Chest Physicians, Glenview, Illinois, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is Intensive care providers, pulmonary and critical care physicians, advanced practice providers (NPs and PAs), ECMO specialists (RN, RT), cardiothoracic surgeons, trauma surgeons, cardiologists, and any provider who cares for patients with severe respiratory or cardiac failure. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 18.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Designed for intensive care providers with patients in respiratory and cardiac failure, this 3-day course will be led by experts from high volume extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) centers and consists of a mix of lectures and high-fidelity workshops. Topics will include patient selection, ICU management of the patient, and basic troubleshooting of the ECMO circuit. More specifically, the course will focus primarily on venovenous (VV) ECMO for severe respiratory failure. The content will also[E3] include an introduction to veno-arterial (VA) ECMO for refractory cardiac failure, cardiopulmonary failure, extracorporeal CPR (eCPR), and guidance for starting and maintaining new ECMO programs.

• Understand the basics of an ECMO circuit and the physiology of ECMO.
• Demonstrate knowledge of patient selection and management while supported by ECMO.
• Acquire the ability to manage patient and circuit complications during ECMO.
