OVERVIEW

Endothelial Cell Phenotypes in Health and Disease Gordon Research Conference (GRC) is organized by Gordon Research Conferences (GRC) and will be held during Jul 15 - 20, 2018 at Renaissance Tuscany The Ciocco Resort & Spa, Lucca, Tuscany, Italy.

Description :

This seminar will focus on the role of intrinsic and extrinsic mediators of vascular biology in health and disease. The formation and maintenance of a functional vascular tree requires the coordination of a plethora of extracellular, intracellular, autocrine and paracrine signals to regulate endothelial cell specification and behaviour. Understanding the basis of the signalling inputs regulating endothelial cell specialization, heterogeneity and homeostasis may provide important insights on the onset and progression of disease. The aim of this meeting is to present recent advances in our understanding of these processes, while providing attendees the opportunity to discuss new research directions in the context of their own work and to foster the development of interactions and collaborations between researchers. The seminar will also include a mentorship session with senior scientists at different phases of their careers.

This GRC will bring together international researchers from all career levels and a variety of disciplines. Sessions will cover the very latest research in a rapidly evolving field. Topics include the heterogeneity and specification of endothelial cell subpopulations, molecular control of phenotypes, organ-specific differentiation, novel sources of endothelial cells during development, transdifferentiation processes, vascular niches, and endothelial dysfunction in disease.

Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
