Domestic Violence and Mental Health: Annual Women's Mental Health Conference is organized by Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPSYCH) and will be held on Dec 07, 2018 at Royal College Of Psychiatrists, London, England, United Kingdom.
The target audience for this medical event is Psychiatrists and all mental health professionals. This CME conference will be approved with one CPD point per hour of educational activity, subject to peer group approval.
Conference Aims:
To update psychiatrists and other mental health professionals about domestic violence and abuse and: a) its relationship with mental health problems: and b) how to identify and respond to potential victims and perpetrators. This is particularly topical with the Domestic Violence and Abuse Bill currently going through parliament, which highlights the role of health professionals in identifying and supporting patients experiencing domestic violence.

• Risk assessment and management of domestic violence perpetrators - a forensic psychiatrist's perspective
• Responding to the needs of victims of domestic abuse within the criminal justice process: recent improvements and ongoing challenges
• Standing Together - implementing lessons from domestic homicide reviews in mental health trusts
• Safe Lives - complex mental health needs and domestic abuse - a view from multi-agency risk assessment conferences, specialist domestic abuse services and the 'Drive' perpetrator programme

Learning objectives:
• Participants will understand the relationship between domestic violence and mental disorders.
• Participants will know how to identify victims and perpetrators, assess risk and safety plan.
• Participants will learn how to develop a service that implements NICE guidance and good practice guidance associated with the new domestic violence and abuse bill.
