Care of the Surgical Neonate: One Stitch at a Time is organized by Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and will be held during Mar 22 - 23, 2018 at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America.

Conference Description :
Neonates with congenital birth defects needing surgery require very specialized care. Understanding the unique needs of these babies is imperative throughout the perioperative period. Advances in prenatal diagnosis and treatment have allowed us to plan and anticipate the needs of these complex patients before and after birth.

This two-day conference will provide continuing education on exciting and innovative care of the surgical neonate from prenatal diagnosis to postnatal management. The presentations will address topics spanning from the prenatal care of infants to post-discharge care coordination. The conference is directed toward nurses, advanced practice nurses and other medical staff who care for the neonatal surgical population.

Conference Objectives are :
• Identify surgical diagnoses and candidates for minimally invasive surgery
• Describe a multidisciplinary approach for patient management of surgical anomalies
• Describe the impact on post-discharge follow-up with provider-to-provider transition utilizing telemedicine
• Differentiate between various airway anomalies and identify treatment modalities

Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
