Blended Trauma and Acute Care Sonography is organized by Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute (GUI) Inc. and will be held on Nov 15, 2018 at Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute, St Petersburg, Florida, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is any medical professional involved with performing trauma, emergency medicine, and critical care ultrasound examinations. Participants may include (but are not limited to): Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Family Practice, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Primary Care, and Hospitalists. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 8.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Description:
Blended Trauma and Acute Care Sonography Training Course provides participants a strong foundation to perform the core ultrasound applications as outlined in the ACEP emergency ultrasound practice guidelines. These courses are taught by leading emergency medicine ultrasound experts that incorporates comprehensive online lectures and interactive case presentations with fifteen (15) months unlimited access, featuring one (1) day (8 hours) of 3:1 faculty to participant hands-on scanning with live models and phantoms during the all-day scan-only workshop at our facility in St.Petersburg, FL. This blended course is specifically designed for physicians, sonographers and other medical professionals who need trauma and acute care sonography training. For the best ultrasound education experience, completion of the online course prior to hands on scanning is recommended.

Course Objectives are :
• Demonstrate the participant's knowledge to better perform and/or interpret trauma ultrasound examinations
• State the basic fundamentals of ultrasound physics and demonstrate appropriate optimization of system controls
• Perform ultrasound evaluation of the trauma patient and pneumothorax (e-FAST)
• Demonstrate scan protocols for focused evaluation of the adult heart
• State an algorithm for uses of bedside ultrasound for differential diagnosis of shock in a trauma patient
• Recognize the sonographic appearance of individual nerves and list the advantages provided when ultrasound is used for performing regional nerve blocks
• Perform ultrasound evaluation of the lung, ocular, soft-tissue, musculoskeletal, and fractures
