The target audience for this medical event is intended for any medical professional involved with performing trauma, emergency medicine, and critical care ultrasound examinations. Participants may include (but are not limited to): Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Family Practice, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Primary Care, and Hospitalists. Conference Description :
Blended Trauma and Acute Care Sonography Training Course provides participants a strong foundation to perform the core ultrasound applications as outlined in the ACEP emergency ultrasound practice guidelines. This blended course is specifically designed for physicians, sonographers and other medical professionals who need trauma and acute care sonography training.

• Ultrasound Imaging Fundamentals.
• Abdominal Scanning Fundamentals.
• The FAST and E-FAST Exams.
• Ultrasound-Guided Vascular Access Fundamentals.
• Ultrasound-Guided Nerve Blocks for Trauma.
• Soft-Tissue/Musculoskeletal Applications in Trauma.
• Focused Cardiac Ultrasound: Differential Diagnosis of Shock in Trauma.
• Cases in Trauma Ultrasound.

Conference Objectives are :
• Increase knowledge and skills to perform ultrasound examinations (specific exams based on specialty track selected).
• Demonstrate appropriate scan techniques and protocols for performing ultrasound examinations.
• Improve scanning skills and increase diagnostic confidence.
• Perform examinations under supervised conditions to help fulfill credentialing and/or individual certification requirements.
• Demonstrate the participants knowledge to better perform and/or interpret trauma ultrasound examinations.
• State the basic fundamentals of ultrasound physics and demonstrate appropriate optimization of system controls.
• Perform ultrasound evaluation of the trauma patient and pneumothorax (e-FAST).
• Demonstrate scan protocols for focused evaluation of the adult heart.
• State an algorithm for uses of bedside ultrasound for differential diagnosis of shock in a trauma patient.
• Recognize the sonographic appearance of individual nerves and list the advantages provided when ultrasound is used for performing regional nerve blocks.
• Perform ultrasound evaluation of the lung, ocular, soft-tissue, musculoskeletal, and fractures.
