OVERVIEW
Annual Mid-Atlantic Hospital Medicine 2018 Symposium is organized by Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS) and will be held from Oct 19 - 20, 2018 at Leon and Norma Hess Center for Science and Medicine, New York City, New York, United States of America. The target audience for this medical event is General Practice, Hospitalist, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant
Course Description:
Our faculty consists of national and international leaders in their fields and our sessions have been designed to provide highly relevant material in a concise and stimulating format.
Our workshops provide participants with a choice of three tracks in which to gain expertise. Concentrate on one track to develop expertise or mix-and-match tracks to experience a variety of topics: Hospitalist Generalist, Hospitalist Specialist and Enhancing Quality & Value.
Course Objectives:
• Manage patients with acute CHF who are at risk for or develop acute kidney injury
• Recognize and manage mild, moderate, and life-threatening allergic reactions
• Treat patients with pain syndromes with effective regimens that minimize adverse effects
• Apply best practices to provide optimal care and avoid readmissions for patients hospitalized with COPD
• Interpret ECG and CXR to improve the timeliness and quality of medical management
• Manage patients with dementia and delirium who develop agitation
