OVERVIEW

American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) District XII Annual District Meetings is organized by American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and will be held from Aug 10 - 12, 2018 at Loews Miami Beach Hotel, Miami Beach, Florida, United States of America.

Physicians/Nurses:

The target audience for this medical event is physicians and nurses who have a specialized interest in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 14 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, the attendee can expect to be able to:

• Discuss the pros and cons of hysteroscopic techniques to include all current FDA approved devices.
• Discuss examples of novel approaches to screening in ovarian cancer.
• Illustrate effective process for counseling patients on LARC.
• Council patients about use, misuse, abuse, diversion and overdose of opioids.
• Review indications and treatment procedures for uterine transplants.
• Identify the proper procedure that should be performed when shoulder dystocia occurs.
• Identify indications for complementary use of different imaging modalities for various abdomino-pelivic organs and conditions.
• Outline opportunities for improving the quality of perinatal care in community and clinical settings.
• Explain how vaginal progesterone decreases the risk of preterm birth.
• Review the effects of physician burnout and discuss ways to prevent burnout in routine practice.
• Review current population data on health disparities and prevalence of prematurity and infant mortality.
• Discuss how to initiate appropriate evaluation for symptoms in adolescents.
• Identify when to report cases of human trafficking, and appropriately report to the National Human Trafficking Hotline.
• Identify significant risks and primary factors associated with medical errors.
