16th Annual American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (AACN) Conference is organized by American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (AACN) and will be held during Jun 20 - 23, 2018 at San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina, San Diego, California, United States of America. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 19.5 CEs.
Conference Description:
Workshops at the 2018 meeting that help focus and prepare us for the changes going forward will include a presentation and explanation of the new CPT codes for our services, which will recognize the increasing role of technology in our work. Another session will focus on the growing population of older workers and the assessment considerations that will address their competence and safety. A presentation on the effects of environmental exposure and another on the effects of cannabis on cognitive performance are timely albeit relatively new to an investigation. We will also move ahead with a Consensus Conference to establish uniformity in the criteria for the labels we apply, Average, Low Average, etc., to scores and levels of performance.
Possibly, there is little more that is forward-looking than the workshop on Disruptive Technology, the movement toward preparing neuropsychologists to interface with new and exciting methodologies. The educational mission of the conference will be supported by workshops on: functional neuroanatomy; ethics; working with diverse cultures; issues in the assessment of the military; neurodegenerative and neurologic disorders; and traumatic brain injury. Forensic matters will be addressed in a meeting of the Forensic Subspecialty Interest Group, in addition to several workshops on forensic practice. The Pediatric Neuropsychology Interest Group will be meeting here and workshops will be offered regarding the particular neuropsychological considerations associated with the developmental stage of childhood as well as issues associated with having a pediatric practice.
