OVERVIEW
Adolescent Medicine 2018 is organized by Boston Children's Hospital and will be held during May 14 - 16, 2018 at Hilton Boston Back Bay, Boston, Massachusetts, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is healthcare professionals involved in the medical care of adolescents and young adults, including: pediatricians, primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses. Conference Description:
The dynamic learning format of the program aims to provide attendees with tangible knowledge about the diagnosis and management of a wide variety of adolescent medical, emotional and social problems that are then transferable to their office practice. Over the course of three days, registrants will attend lectures, Q&A sessions, panel presentations, and workshops. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to interact directly with faculty members following presentations, during breaks, at continental breakfasts, and workshops.
Topics include:
• opioid and prescription drug misuse
• internet addiction and problematic interactive media use
• celiac and gluten-sensitivity in teens
• menstrual problems
• adolescent marijuana use and more
Conference Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
• Integrate findings from research and clinical innovations with the delivery of adolescent patient-centered care.
• Apply the principles of quality improvement, addressing systems and practice issues, into clinical activities.
• Model communication skills with adolescents and their families.
• Identify the newest recommendations for topics such as adolescent vaccinations and TB testing, PREP, nPEP, lipid screening, treatment of ARFID.
• Develop strategies to diagnose, treat or manage adolescent conditions, including; cardiovascular risks, obesity, chronic disease, gynecologic issues, and substance abuse.
