OVERVIEW

9th Annual William H. Bell Lectureship - Overcoming Obstacles in Orthognathic Surgery is organized by Houston Methodist Hospital and will be held from Nov 16 - 17, 2018 at Houston Methodist Research Institute, Houston, Texas, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is Oral and maxillofacial surgeons, orthodontists, plastic surgeons, otolaryngologists, residents/fellows, researchers, nurses, and technicians involved with or interested in oral and maxillofacial surgery. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 8.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Program Overview:-
Three-dimensional virtual planning improves the outcomes of orthognathic surgery, but several barriers have prevented full implementation. Successful implementation requires
(1) an understanding of computer tomography, image processing, and three-dimensional geometry,
(2) the use well-tested software and planning protocols, and (3) cost-control.

In this seminar, attendees will learn the fundamentals of three-dimensional medical imaging, how to diagnose facial deformities using advanced morphometric tools, and how to efficiently simulate treatment in a 3D virtual environment. Additionally, attendees will learn the latest treatment planning protocols and how to reduce treatment cost.

Educational Objectives:-
Upon completion of this course, the participants should be able to:
• Describe the fundamentals of three-dimensional imaging
• Assess and quantify jaw deformities correctly
• Plan orthognathic surgeries efficiently and effectively

Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
