97th Annual Meeting of the South Central Section (SCS) of the American Urological Association (AUA) is organized by South Central Section of the American Urological Association (SCSAUA) and will be held from Sep 26 - 29, 2018 at Omni Nashville Hotel, Nashville, Tennessee, United States of America.

Conference Description :
Bladder cancer is one of the most common urologic malignancies. Recent information has been used to create an updated guideline from the AUA on evaluation and treatment of muscle invasive bladder cancer. A state-of-the-art lecture and panel discussion will address this new guideline and examples of patient clinical care.

Neurogenic bladder is a very common form of lower urinary tract dysfunction associated with a variety of different causes and outcomes. A critical discussion on topics related to neurogenic bladder evaluation and management will examine this in detail.

Both men and women experience issues with sexual health and sexual dysfunction. A critical discussion panel will address issues and update members on new advances in diagnosis and treatment of these conditions.

Ongoing changes in health policy affect essentially all urologists and their practices. These topics are rapidly changing, and up to date information is crucial for successful practice. A series of presentations will address issues in health policy to update our members on these topics.

Stress urinary incontinence is one of the most common forms of voiding dysfunction in adult women. Recent data has been used to update the AUA guidelines on this condition. A state-of-the-art lecture and panel discussion will provide a comprehensive update of this new guideline for our members.

Optimization of care for transgender patients has reached the forefront of current medical practice. Urologists can play an important role in the evaluation and care of these patients. This AUA Course of Choice presentation and subsequent panel discussion will update our members on the current best practices in gender affirming surgery and clinical practice.

Conference Objectives are :
• Integrate AUA guidelines into clinical practice for evaluation and care of patients with muscle invasive bladder cancer.
• Describe new research findings and clinical practice recommendations for treatment of neurogenic bladder.
• Explain new clinical evaluation and treatment options in the management of sexual dysfunction in men and women.
• Review new and ongoing health policy decisions that will influence urologic practice and advocate for policies that help patients and practitioners.
• Incorporate AUA guidelines into the evaluation and treatment of women with stress urinary incontinence.
• Outline current best practices for gender confirming surgery and other aspects of clinical management in the urologic care of transgender patients.
• Adopt methods to reduce barriers and enhance participation in clinical trials for urologic conditions for both patients and clinical practices.
• Develop enhanced methods to optimize care of adolescents and young adults with chronic urologic conditions who are transitioning from pediatric to adult care.
• Review common conditions and new research in pediatric urology.
• Outline methods of evaluation and management of complex traumatic genitourinary injuries.
• Acquire understanding of the current opioid crisis in the United States including the role urologists can play in helping to maintain adequate pain management for patients while reducing risk of opiate abuse among patients.
