6th Annual Central PA Sports Medicine Symposium is organized by Penn State University (PSU) College of Medicine Continuing Education and will be held on Aug 01, 2018 at Hershey Lodge, Dauphin, Pennsylvania, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is Physicians, Physical Therapists, Physician Assistants, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Nurse Practitioners, Athletic Trainers. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 6.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Conference Objectives are :
At the conclusion of the course, the participant should be able to:
• Implement strategies for preventing provider burnout and maximizing life balance
• Discuss how to evaluate when to return an athlete to play following an ankle sprain
• Apply knowledge of the risk factors to recognize and prevent child sexual abuse
• Discuss return-to-play strategies following a muscle strain
• Employ knowledge to effectively lead a sports medicine team
• Describe how an athlete’s wellness and performance is affected by inadequate sleep
• Summarize several ongoing sports medicine research studies
• Assess the risk factors of allowing an athlete with chronic dislocations to continue to play
• Describe the parameters used to determine athlete participation in sports
• Identify the signs and symptoms of stress fractures
• Identify an athlete with heat stroke and implement proper care
• Review the basic principles of radiology assessment
• Analyze the imaging techniques and treatment options for spondylolysis
