25th Annual Fall Conference on Challenges in Taking Care of the High Risk Pregnancy is organized by Symposia Medicus and will be held from Nov 14 - 17, 2018 at The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club, Naples, Florida, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is physicians, certified nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, PAs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who face challenges in the care of the high-risk pregnant patient. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 18.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Conference Description:
The goal of this conference is to increase knowledge and enhance the competence of attendees. Emphasis will be placed on practical application of the evidence-based topics presented.
Topics for this year’s conference have been selected based on the educational needs determined from the identified professional practice gaps. The gaps were derived from a variety of sources including evaluations and outcomes data from past participants; clinical expert input; Symposia Medicus’ online survey; and other medical and nursing data.
The conference format will include didactic lectures, smaller group breakout and interactive sessions, case studies, and question and answer sessions.
Conference Objectives are:
• Review the challenges in caring for the obese gravida
• Develop a plan for the pregnant patient with substance use disorder during the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods
• Describe the spectrum of congenital infections with maternal and fetal risk
• Discuss best practice recommendations in medically indicated labor induction
• Recognize the causes and consequences of gestational diabetes for pregnant women and their newborns
• Address appropriate changes in treatment for the patient with advanced maternal age
