OVERVIEW
22nd Annual Duluth Breast Imaging Conference is organized by Medical Technology Management Institute (MTMI) and will be held from Sep 28 - 29, 2018 at The Inn on Lake Superior, Duluth, Minnesota, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is all mammographers and x-ray technologists with a special interest in Breast Imaging. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 16 hours of Category A continuing education Credits.

Course Description:
This conference will provide participants with in-depth lectures that will result in renewed insight into innovative technologies that exist in breast imaging today. The curriculum was designed to highlight individual areas of expertise and knowledge from the perspective of a radiologist, mammography technologists, nurse navigators and an MQSA inspector. With the implementation of EQUIP, we will have a panel discussion among experts that can assist in achieving the optimal program in your breast center. With the continued passing of breast density laws throughout the U.S., this conference will present the implications of breast density and how to communicate effectively with patients on this growing and important subject.
We are fortunate to bring in the Executive Director of DenseBreast-INFO.org, JoAnn Pushkin, to share the clinical implications of breast density and the educational tools available to patients and healthcare providers. The conference will conclude with the importance of workplace harmony and work in mammography pain-free.
Educational Objectives:
At the completion of this program, attendees will be able to:
• Familiar with Mammography Accreditation and MQSA Regulations
• Able to work through a challenging case and know what modalities will assist in success.
• Understand the clinical implications of dense breast tissue in regards to the risk of cancer.
• Able to identify the need for patient/healthcare education on the topic of breast density and discuss educational tools to facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers.
• Familiar with the newest tools for the diagnosis of breast cancer and how they help find cancers early and make treatment planning easier.
• Familiar with techniques to evaluate clinical images and assessment techniques.
• Able to discuss the advances in mammographic positioning and techniques to enhance current positioning styles through live positioning with a model
• Able to discuss the role of a Breast Cancer Navigator and the resources available for a breast cancer patient from diagnosis through survivorship.
• Able to identify and care for a high-risk breast cancer patient.
• Aware of the impact mammography technologists make in so many lives.
• Familiar with skills to maximize breast tissue on difficult patients to position for mammography.
• Familiar with the newest updates and improvements in Breast Tomosynthesis Technology(DBT).
• To evaluate a mass seen on mammography and how DBT can help in the workup of breast lesions.
• Able to demonstrate the value of being able to perform tomosynthesis guided biopsies and understand the utilization of automated whole breast ultrasound.
• Able to discuss which imaging modalities work best for which patients.
• Familiar with EQUIP and how to implement an MQSA passable program in your breast center.
• Able to identify tools to implement workplace harmony with co-workers and patients.
• Aware of tricks to working in mammography pain-free.
