2018 Orthopaedic Surgery Alumni Conference is organized by University of Virginia and will be held during Apr 13 - 14, 2018 at Omni Charlottesville Hotel, Charlottesville, Virginia, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is orthopedic practitioners including surgeons, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 9.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Conference Description :
A primarily case-based format will be used to explore the surgical and alternative management of patients within the subspecialties of joint replacement, trauma, pediatrics, hand and upper extremity, foot and ankle, shoulder and knee, and spine. Each presenter will engage the audience in an exchange of ideas and opinions ending with an overview of the best evidence for the problem(s) highlighted in the case. Panel discussions will allow for discussion of complex cases, and each session will include opportunities for audience participation. New this year – alumni who were nominated to present will discuss their research, areas of interest/expertise, innovative ideas, and practical accomplishments.
Conference Objectives are :
• Review advances and current best practices in each of the following fields, foot/ankle, hand, spine, joint arthroplasty, pediatric orthopedics, orthopedic trauma surgery, and sports medicine
• Discuss and debate controversies relevant to each of the orthopedic subspecialties
• Provide an update and discuss relevant issues in today's healthcare environment that are prudent to providing optimal patient care in a financially fiscal manner
Education Objectives :
• Evaluate and discuss complex cases involving orthopedic pathology of the foot and ankle, hand and wrist, and spine
• Identify and appropriately utilize new and emerging techniques in pediatric orthopedics, musculoskeletal trauma, and sports medicine
• Choose efficient methods of providing orthopedic care in a changing healthcare environment.
